Building Teams Through Enhanced Understanding of Self & Others

Using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator as a foundation, this workshop builds team understanding and communication by helping participants to better understand their own styles and those of teammates. Instead of trying to change each other into copies of themselves, generating frustration along the way, they learn to appreciate and honor their diversity. This highly interactive workshop includes experiencing different styles in practice and experimenting with influence techniques.

Leading Strategic Change

Through this workshop leaders will increase their ability to lead strategic change that achieves sustainable results. They will assess what they already do well in leading change and identify opportunities for enhancing their change leadership skills. They will be introduced to the most powerful and practical change tools, such as Lewin’s force-field analysis, the emotional cycle of change, Moore’s strategic triangle, Beckhard’s cost of change equation, and Kotter’s sustainable change steps, and will develop personal checklists related to each change tool. Throughout this interactive workshop, participants will apply the tools to their own change situations.

Strategic Thinking and Learning

Strategy is the art of making the most intelligent choices – those that will use limited resources to provide the most value. What are the elements that must be brought into coherent alignment for success? How can organizations execute on those choices while learning for the future? And given the dynamic environment in which most organizations operate, how can they continually renew and adapt? This workshop addresses these questions with practical guidelines, examples, and activities.

Taking Charge of Time

Despite the technological advances intended to save time, most people leave their offices later, feeling frustrated by the things not accomplished. This workshop provides practical advice on how to be more in control of time. It provides practical suggestions for recognizing and eliminating time wasters as well as prioritizing and delegating. Participants bring time logs they create in advance and leave with specific action plans.

Team Decision Making

In today’s complex environments, decisions must frequently be made with multiple stakeholders who have different political agendas and knowledge. This workshop presents a decision making process that leads to rational decisions that incorporate multiple knowledge and perspectives, create ownership and commitment, document the steps and conclusions, and consider such implementation issues as risks. The process is based on the Kepner-Tregoe decision making model. Participants practice the steps in the model on highly relevant real life issues.
