Madeline Weiss, Ph.D.

Dr. Weiss is president of Weiss Associates, Inc. Utilizing her experience of over 35 years in management, organization development, and information technology, she consults to global business, non-profit, and professional organizations.

She was an Adjunct Professor at The American University, where she received the Outstanding Teaching Award for 1979. Dr. Weiss was director of the management information systems graduate field of study and developed several new courses in organizational aspects of IT, and has taught graduate courses in management information systems, organization dynamics, and consulting.

Previously she was with Electronic Data Systems Corporation, responsible for developing and evaluating computer systems and managing designers and programmers of computer systems. Earlier in her career she was with the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company (now Verizon).

Dr. Weiss was Vice President for Communications of the Society for Information Management (SIM), an international society of senior information executives, and currently serves as Program Director of SIM’s Advanced Practices Council, a research-based program for senior IT executives of leading companies worldwide. She continues to facilitate SIM’s Regional Leadership Forum, a leadership development program, each year.

She speaks frequently at corporate, non-profit, and professional learning events and has been published widely in both the business and IT industry press. "Open Computing" magazine listed her as one of the top 100 women in computing.

She received a Ph.D. (1982) and M.S. (1976) from The American University and a B.A. (1963) from Queens College. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, and Pi Alpha Alpha honorary societies.
